In Houston today, Black students are six times more likely and Latino students are two times more likely to attend a failing school than their White and Asian peers. This is completely unacceptable and I’m not okay standing by and watching these inequities in our educational system persist. I believe racial equity and social justice work is critical to challenging and dismantling oppressive mindsets, policies, and practices and ultimately creating new realities where Black and Brown students thrive.
