Graciano Petersen
Graciano Petersen is the interim Co-Principal and Lead STEM Teacher at the Academy of Hope's Ward 8 Campus in Washington, DC and also serves as the Montgomery College Silver Spring Campus GED in Spanish Instructor. Graciano has a MA that focuses on Second Language Acquisition from Tulane University and a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology, also from Tulane. He has over 12 years of Adult Education experience and is passionate about making math education accessible to all types and levels of learners. He also works tirelessly to make science instruction fun, engaging, and worthwhile to adult learners. He tries to do all of this while also infusing technology and experiential education into his instruction. Graciano lives in Ward 7 and when he is not teaching, he can be found engaging in the wonderfully eclectic and diverse international events in the city.
