We start with race, the most taboo and unreconciled American subject.
Our three core offerings are designed to help individuals and organizations to engage deeply in race, equity, diversity, and inclusion (REDI) work.
THE NEXUS FELLOWSHIP
The Nexus Fellowship is a national fellowship that helps leaders to create long-term organizational change around race and equity. As a yearlong program, the Nexus experience engages participants and their host organizations in a deep personalized leadership journey based on their identities around three specific design challenges: challenges with people, challenges with processes, and challenges with programs.
SEEDING DISRUPTION
Seeding Disruption is a Washington, DC-based fellowship that helps educators and youth-facing professionals use equity-driven design thinking to solve specific problems in their work. Over the course of 13 months, participants develop their skills and knowledge as leaders for equity; build community across racial difference, organizations, and fields; and generate, seed, and catalyze disruptive practices for purpose of dismantling systems of racial inequity in Washington, DC.
LONG-TERM ENGAGEMENTS
Long-term engagements are designed to meet the needs of organizations that are ready and committed to becoming anti-racist leaders for equity but are unsure of how to get there.
Our engagements require extensive collaboration with leadership and a steering committee over the course of one to two years. Organizations will transform through individual growth, revision of policies and procedures with an equity lens, and team-level alignment to an organization-wide vision for equity.
While we do not specifically offer training on the many other inequities that exist in our country and culture, our belief is that the skills, tools, and resources we offer can and should be applied to any inequity once they are learned in regard to race. The offerings below are designed to engage and empower a wide variety of individuals, organizations, and institutions for continued work in all areas of inequity.
