Applications for the Nexus Fellowship are now open!

The Nexus Fellowship is designed for senior social change leaders committed to building and sustaining equitable, anti-racist workplaces to advance principles and practices that celebrate, uplift, and ensure that all youth thrive. Pairs of fellows come from across the country representing organizations dedicated to PK–12 education and adjacent fields (e.g, pediatric health, early childhood, housing, child welfare, juvenile justice, and more). The 12-month cohort experience equips these leaders with the highest leverage tools to transform communities, organizations, and systems to advance equity, justice, and liberation.

Through the Nexus Fellowship experience…

Fellows will:

  • Connect REDI (race, equity, diversity, and inclusion) principles to everyday life, both in and out of the workplace

  • Apply an equity lens to influence structural transformation

  • Strengthen adaptive skills to support transformation in their leadership

  • Build national community with an elite community of equity-driven leaders and organizations

  • Cultivate the leadership skills necessary to catalyze and sustain lasting organizational change through monthly individual and partner coaching sessions.

Organizations will:

  • Join a network of organizations that are committed to the ongoing work of building and sustaining equity in practice

  • Retain two expertly trained in-house leaders equipped with the mindsets, skills, and best practices to support REDI efforts, saving significantly on the costs of equity consultants and facilitators hired year after year

  • Align external equity efforts with internal workplace policies and practices that promote inclusivity and belonging

The Program

The Signature In-Person experience brings you to the Fellowship and features:

  • Four in-person, weeklong residencies from August 2023 through June 2024

  • Exploration of the historical and transformational intersection of racial equity in intentionally-selected U.S. cities

  • Opportunities to connect and network with city-specific equity leaders to build and strengthen impact in the collective work of equity and liberation

  • Opportunity for strong in-person connection with a cohort through informal, in-person social gatherings

  • Ability to retreat from daily life to engage and focus deeply on the work of racial equity

The Virtual Cohort experience brings the Fellowship to you and features the same core components of the Signature experience in a synchronous format through eight 1.5-day sessions from September 2023 through June 2024.
