Eugene Pinkard
Eugene has spent his entire career serving the students of Washington, DC. In his current role as Chief of School Development and Continuous Improvement for DC Public Schools, he leads strategic planning and equity initiatives for the district. He began his career in rural South Africa as a volunteer teacher. Eugene has been a school leader in traditional public schools, private schools, and charter schools. His schools have earned accreditation and top national percentiles in academic growth. His leadership has spanned the Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade continuum, always emphasizing rigorous instruction and empowerment for students and staff alike. He has presented locally and nationally on educational equity, leadership, and school turnaround. Eugene has served on a variety of community boards in the DC area. He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from Georgetown University in Government and Theology, and a Master’s in School Administration from Trinity College.
