Eric Bethel
Eric Bethel is a native Washingtonian, however he grew up in a military household and spent much of his childhood living on military bases in various states across the country. He attended Mount Saint Mary’s college for both undergraduate and graduate school, earning a B.A in sociology and an M.Ed in Elementary Education. Most recently he graduated from Georgetown’s school of business with an Executive Masters in Leadership. This is his 17th year in education all serving students in the District of Columbia Public Schools system. He spent his first eight years teaching third through fifth grade at Marie Reed Elementary School. In the summer of 2010, Eric was awarded a fellowship to work in DCPS Central Office as a Teacher Central to Leadership fellow. This experience broadened his perspective on education reform and led to him serving DCPS students and teachers in a variety of capacities including mater educator, assistant principal, now principal of Turner Elementary school.
