Dana Carr

Over the past two decades, I have led a variety of efforts to design, implement, and improve school environments to promote health and wellbeing. I currently serve as the Senior Advisor for the Division of Health and Wellness within the Office of the State Superintendent of Education. Prior to coming to this role, I served as the Education Liaison for the Delaware Division of Public Health, working with state and local education leaders to navigate the COVID pandemic. As a consultant for over a decade, I oversaw a range of national, state, and local projects designed to improve school environments for teaching and learning. I also was the Director of Health, Mental Health, Environmental Health, and Physical Education at the US Department of Education, gaining critical experience with state and local education agencies across the nation.

A mother of two teens, I currently am pursuing a DrPH degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with a focus on school health, and have a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Early in my career, I taught Head Start and Language Arts to middle school students with dyslexia.
