Adam Levner
Adam Levner is the Co-Founder of Critical Exposure, a DC nonprofit that teaches youth how to use the power of photography and organizing to fight for educational equity. He recently stepped down as Executive Director, a position he held for the last 16 years. Adam has extensive experience in nonprofit management, education, and youth development. Prior to cofounding CE, Adam served as an Education Organizing Consultant at the Center for Community Change and as Stand for Children’s Lead Organizer in Prince George’s County. In those positions, Adam helped develop and support campaigns aimed at improving educational outcomes for low-income youth and youth of color. Adam began his career as a fifth-grade teacher and a freelance photographer. He attended Tufts University and received a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from the Georgetown University Center for Public & Nonprofit Leadership. Adam is a member of Leadership Greater Washington and gave a TED talk titled, "Stories Aren't Enough: Connecting Youth Voices to Action" at TEDxFoggyBottom. Most recently, he co-founded a Racial Equity Working Group, a diverse group of DC-area leaders who meet monthly to discuss ways to advance racial equity in both our personal and professional lives. Adam lives in Montgomery County with his wife and daughter.
