Deniece Clifford

Deniece currently serves as the Administrative Officer for the DC Public Library. In this role, she ensures that systems and structures are in place to support the Agency holistically, with a specific lens on Risk Management, HR, IT, Facilities, Budget and Finance, Capital Projects, Procurement, Parking Operations and Compliance. In her “free” time she is also the Agency’s Ethics Officer and PCard program coordinator. Prior to this Deniece was a strategic part of the higher education team at the University of the District of Columbia, where she served as the Manager of Operations and Events. She handled the day-to-day management and execution of internal faculty and staff events, student focused events, external for profit, not for profit and Government rentals, as well as course and classroom scheduling for the University System. She is a disciplined, self-motivated, pragmatic leader with over 16 years of experience delivering sustained results in District Government. Her foundational work draws on her skills in inter-Agency and inter-departmental collaboration, dynamic communication and negotiation, problem resolution, client needs assessment, as well as her focus on promoting agency, advocacy and equity for the underserved segments of the District’s population. Deniece is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, and holds a Master of Science in Homeland Security from the University of the District of Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Howard University.
