Markaiah Mathis

Markaiah Mathis is a senior at KIPP DC College Prep (she/her). Markaiah is a dedicated, strong minded and incredible individual who has been advocating for student rights, women rights and People Of Color since 9th grade through the DMV area. Currently, she is working with the DC State Board of Education on the student committee to create changes. She found her voice in 9th grade as she noticed mental health isn’t talked about enough in schools, homes and in the community. Markaiah has a passion for fighting for what she believes in and leading the change. Since Markaiah has started high school she has been in 7+ organizations to create a better future, social change, and bring awareness to multiple topics. She’s joined Seeding Disruption Remix to bring her plans and projects along addressing social injustices, mental health and leading a safer community.
