Alia Peera

I am deeply committed to fighting for a world where children and families can truly belong and be free. Fighting for racial and educational equity was ingrained in me early on by my mother, who immigrated to this country in search of a better life. As an educator, she fought tirelessly so that black and brown children like myself could have access to the opportunities they deserve, and ultimately, see that they’re worthy of love and belonging. I am inspired by all the people that have come before me, including my ancestors that paved the way for us to thrive. I am compelled to do this work so that all students have access to high-quality educational experiences where they can be fully seen and heard.

Alia Peera is a Partner in Northern California at the Wildflower Foundation.
