Faith Gibson Hubbard
In May 2015, Faith Gibson Hubbard was appointed as the chief student advocate for the Office of the Student Advocate, an independent office in the DC State Board of Education. As a former public school teacher, Faith is a passionate education advocate who has served in many capacities including: as the former president of the Ward Five Council on Education and as a member of the advisory committee for the student assignment and school boundaries review process for the District of Columbia Public Schools. Currently, Faith serves as a board member of the DC Public Library board of library trustees and as a member of the Mayor’s DC Cross-Sector Collaboration Taskforce. Faith is currently pursuing her doctorate in public policy from the Center for Public Administration & Policy at Virginia Tech where her dissertation focuses on community engagement and shared decision-making processes in public education planning. Faith holds a Masters of Public Administration from Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA) and a Bachelor of Arts in communications/public relations from Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA). Faith is a proud DC resident who lives in the Woodridge neighborhood in Ward 5 with her husband and two children.
