Jessica Cates-Bristol
I graduated from Stetson University after studying abroad in Kenya, and I obtained a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. In 2012, I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Masters of Social Work and a Juris Doctor, and am currently licensed in each. I started my clinical career at Mary's Center after being a stay at home mom for several years. Prior to Mary's Center and having kids, I worked with various community-based organizations in D.C., and managed programs in Sub-Saharan African working in the international development space, empowering youth through public health education and girls leadership through sport. I remain deeply connected to my work abroad by remaining active on several boards. Over the years, I've continuously landed in the education space working with youth in various settings, including as an intern with the Public Defender Service of D.C. Youth Services Department and various others.
