Jennifer Barnes Eliot

Jennifer Barnes Eliot is the Development and Communications Director at An Open Book Foundation in Washington, DC, a position she’s held since 2019. Her favorite aspects of her current position are the opportunities for story-telling, cheerleading and connecting. She previously held lead roles in marketing, communications, development, and fundraising with a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations in the US and abroad, including time in Bangkok, Istanbul, Hong Kong and Delhi. Jennifer first landed in the world of education midway through her career, and discovered the sweet spot where passion and expertise overlap. She’s lived in and around DC for many years, first landing here to earn her BA in Public Communication from The American University, and currently residing alongside an amazing community of neighbors.
