Jessica Duncan
As the health education manager at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), Division of Health and Wellness (H&W), Jes works at the intersection of public health and education. She leads a diverse team who focus on health and physical education, educator wellness, environmental literacy, and school behavioral health. Through this work she supports the whole child and whole educator through programs, policies, and practices that mitigate health and wellness barriers to learning and teaching.
Prior to working at OSSE, Jes completed her Masters in Public Health at Tulane University and began her career at the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), Division of Early Childhood. As the health services manager she focused on the implementation of health programming and supports for the youngest learners.
Outside of work, Jes is spending time with her husband and two kiddos – a first-grader who questions everything and a three-year old who is constantly on the move.
