Joseph Speight
Joseph Speight is the Deputy Chief Academic Officer at Friendship Public Charter School, where he has served in various leadership roles since joining the field of education in 1999. His career spans a wide range of positions, including Teacher, Director, Assistant Principal, Principal, Chief Academic Officer, and Co-Founder.
At Friendship, he has led as Principal of three PS–8th grade campuses before stepping into his current role. In addition to his work at Friendship, Joseph is a Board Member of the Social Justice School, Co-Founder of the National Association of Black Male Educators (NABME), and Co-Founder of Statesmen College Preparatory Academy for Boys.
He is also a devoted husband to a fellow long-standing educator and a proud father to an amazing young man.
