Lenore Jarvis
Dr. Jarvis is a pediatric emergency medicine physician at Children’s National Hospital (CNH) and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics for The GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. She serves as the Director of Advocacy and Health Policy for the Division of Emergency Medicine and Child Health Advocacy Institute Affiliate Faculty for CNH. She strives to unite pediatricians of all subspecialties and affiliations towards the common goal of improved healthcare for children. She has held leadership positions in the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) since 2006 and is the current President of the DC Chapter of the AAP. She received formal advocacy training through the AAP Department of Federal Affairs Internship on Capitol Hill. Dr. Jarvis was also selected, through a competitive process, to participate in the 2018 Presidential Leadership Scholars Program, a leadership program jointly offered by the bipartisan presidential centers of former Presidents George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, William J. Clinton, and Lyndon B. Johnson. At CNH, Dr. Jarvis serves multiple committees such as the Perinatal Mental Health Task Force, the Child Abuse Prevention Committee, and the Government Affairs Council. She also serves on the Mayor’s Thrive By Five Coordinating Council and Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board.
